Donald Trump’s relationship with his wife Melania has been a topic of speculation throughout the couple’s entire time in the White House, and now the subject is in the news yet again, after a former White House aide told reporters that the first lady is planning to divorce the president as soon as he’s out of office.
Former White House aide Omarosa Manigault Newman told The Mail on Sunday that “Melania is counting every minute until he is out of office and she can divorce.”
Newman said that Melania would have left him already but she fears how he would react if she were to humiliate him by leaving him while he was still in office. Newman said that Melania has decided to spare the president the “ultimate humiliation” of being the only president to get divorced while in office. In fact, Ronald Reagan is the only US president other than Trump who had a divorce, while Trump is the only president in US history to have multiple divorces.
Fact-checkers have confirmed that the moving truck seen outside of the White House was real, prompting speculation that Melania is the one moving out.

Melania and Donald have been married for 15 years, and dating for 6 years before that. The couple’s relationship was the topic of a highly publicized book that came out earlier this year titled “Melania and Me,” which was written by Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, an old friend of Melania. The book revealed the power dynamics at play in the Trump White House, and discussed rivalries between Melania and Trump’s children. In the book, Wolkoff also shared her frustrations about her own friendship with Melania, describing her as someone who exploits the kindness of her friends to get what she wants.
According to CNN, Melania is among members of the Trump inner circle who are now urging him to concede. Even Jared Kushner, the President’s son-in-law, and senior adviser, has approached him and urged him to concede.
Michael Cohen, Trump’s former personal attorney, has said that he does not expect a concession speech from Trump, and thinks that he will not return to the White House after Christmas, and will not be present for Biden’s inauguration.
‘’He is just a loser and it is killing him,” Mr Cohen said.
However, others close to Trump believe that he plans on remaining an influential force in the Republican Party for the rest of his life.
Some reports have suggested that Trump could launch a television network or continue to host rallies, or perhaps both. Rick Gates, an aide to Trump during his 2016 presidential campaign, expects Trump to remain in politics for the long haul.
“He’s going to continue to play a significant role in the Republican Party. He’ll have that locked up for at least the next few years,” Gates said.
Gates also said Trump would likely “seriously consider another run in 2024,” according to USA Today.
Gates is not the only Trump insider to make such a prediction. Mick Mulvaney, a former chief of staff, predicted a Trump 2024 campaign recently while appearing in a recent interview.
“I would absolutely expect the president to stay involved in politics and would absolutely put him on the shortlist of people who are likely to run in 2024,” Mulvaney said.
In Trump’s most recent formal statement to the press, he said that the election was “far from over.”
