A horrifying disturbing depraved video shows an unknown man smack another man in the back of the head with a brick which seems like for no reason in Baltimore, Maryland. However, authorities say the two men were previously arguing and the video doesn't show the full story.
City Councilman Eric Costello posted on Facebook, stating the incident occurred around 6:35 p.m. on West Hamburg Street at Leadenhall Street on Monday.
“It should go without saying that the complete depravity to human life illustrated in this video is absolutely disgusting and should be investigated and prosecuted to the full extent of the law,” Costello wrote on Facebook.
Video on social media shows a man approaching another man from behind and hitting him in the head with bricks. The victim then falls to the ground. The incident took place on Sunday according to Associated Press. In the footage, the cameraman is heard laughing after the man smacks the other one in the back of the head with a brick. It's almost as if the unknown unidentified man filming knew what was going to happen as he's directly following the action while laughing.
The clip was originally posted to Instagram by a user traysavage_, who glorified the assault and casted it in racial terms. “YOUNG MAN YOU GOT KNOCKED TF OUT,” he wrote, in between crying-laughing emojis. “B**CH YOU BET[TER] NOT RUN,” the post continued, adding the hashtag #WhiteLivesDoNotMatter before the more familiar #BlackLivesMatter.
Law And Crimes reports, the footage appears to show a Black man hitting a white man in the back of the head with a brick as the victim walked down the street. Though neither’s faces were visible in the footage that has gone viral on social media.
The video doesn’t offer much context, but it has been viewed millions of times online since Sunday.
However, a follow-up report by WMAR cited a witness account that sheds more light on what may have led to the attack.
“I was coming out of 7 eleven and the guy asked the guy for two dollars and the gentleman said he didn’t have two dollars and he was like well you got money in your hand and he said this is bill money and he walked away,” a man said.
According to a police incident report, the two men were heard arguing before one picked up a brick and hit the other as he walked away. The attacker then fled the scene after incapacitating his victim according to witnesses.
Police responded at 6:40 p.m. to Hamburg Street in the Sharp-Leadenhall neighborhood, the Baltimore Sun reported.
An officer found a “pool of blood” on the sidewalk but did not locate the victim. The witness told police the attacker fled from the scene.
“It happened so fast,” one witness, who did not want to be named, told local CBS affiliate WJZ. “When I saw him running I thought he was running to talk to the guy.”
Police said they are investigating the incident but that they couldn't immediately find the victim. Costello tweeted Tuesday morning that "the victim has been identified and located, has spoken with police, and does not appear to have serious injuries."

The man received minor injuries and did not seek medical attention. Baltimore police are not releasing the victim’s name or age being that he is not deceased, police spokesperson Donny Moses told the Baltimore Sun.
Baltimore policed spokeswoman sent a statement to a local Baltimore news station 11 News, stating, "The incident is being investigated. Unfortunately, the victim left the scene prior to officers' arrival and investigators have not been able to locate him. Detectives have canvassed all of our area hospitals as well as conducting a search history for assault calls in case the victim called police to another location."
